Our story

Rooted in Texas soil since 1954

Lonestar Prairie Farm began when the Carter family settled on a patch of rolling prairie and sandy loam that turned out to be just right for cattle and crops. Four generations later, the same family still works this land and calls it home.

We believe a ranch is more than fences and fields. It is a place where stories are passed down at the kitchen table and where neighbors are greeted at the gate with a firm handshake and a hot meal waiting inside.

Our work is simple: raise healthy animals, care for the land, and offer honest food to families who want to know their rancher by name.

  • Fourth-generation family ownership and hands-on management.
  • Rotational grazing practices that protect soil and native grasses.
  • No routine antibiotics or growth hormones in our beef cattle.
  • Direct sales from our farm stand and local pickup only.
What we raise

From our pastures to your table

We sell directly from the ranch so you know exactly where your food is coming from. Everything we offer is raised here on our farm under the same careful watch.

Beef cattle

Grass-fed Texas beef

Our cattle are born and raised on pasture, finished on grass, and processed at a small USDA-inspected facility. Cuts are vacuum-sealed and frozen at peak freshness.

Cuts available: ground, roasts, steaks, soup bones.
Sold by the cut, quarter, half, or whole animal by reservation.
No routine antibiotics · No added hormones
Eggs & poultry

Free-range ranch eggs

Our laying hens follow the cattle in portable coops, scratching through the pasture and helping fertilize fields the way nature intended.

Fresh brown and speckled eggs available weekly at the farm stand.
Limited seasonal whole chickens by pre-order only.
Truly pasture-raised hens
